  Seeing Beyond

2 Corinthians 4 says:
18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

How do you fix our eyes on something which you cannot see? It is not talking about the physical eyes but rather the spiritual eyes. Ephesians 1:18 refers this as “Eyes of your Heart”. In biblical terms this is called ‘revelation’.

Apostle Paul says that his job was to “preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ” (Ephesians 3:8). Through revelation “humanly unsearchable” becomes “searchable”. Now consider this scripture,

1 Corinthians 2:9
However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"

Now see the next verse:
1 Corinthians 2:10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.

What if moment by moment, you are able to “see things which you have never seen”, “hear things that you have never heard” and receive completely new and strong impressions in the mind/heart concerning various things. Like Archimedes, this would result in Spirit filled people running their lives with burning with passion for Christ. People seeing their light (light of the knowledge of God - 2 Corinthians 4:6) will praise the father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

Apostle Paul (unlike Peter) never was with Jesus during His earthly ministry. Peter on the other hand was among the closest disciples of Jesus; being with Jesus always; walked on water with Jesus; witnessed so many miracles; witnessed the resurrected Christ….. But Peter concerning Paul says “His letters contain some things that are hard to understand” (2 Peter 3:16). This blew my mind. Peter should not find it difficult to understand. How is this possible? That’s the power of “Revelation”.

Paul has made it clear that he received this by revelation from Jesus Christ and strictly not from any man.

Galations 1:
11 I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. 12I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

Is this also God’s will for us? YES 100 %. From the epistles we can understand that the apostles lived such a powerful life. They were not afraid of afflictions. Rather they rejoiced during afflictions. They instructed the Church to be joyful always. Humanly speaking only a mad person can be joyful during afflictions. Christians on the contrary can always be joyful when their Spiritual eyes can “SEE BEYOND” the current trials/afflictions/pains through God’s revelation. “SEE BEYOND”!!!
